Nagpur, Maharashtra, INDIA: A shocking incident has emerged from the Koradi area of Nagpur district where a four-year-old boy suffered severe burn injuries after his grandmother allegedly poured boiling water on him for spraying colour while playing ahead of Holi.
According to police, the incident took place on March 3 in Ward No. 2 of the Aramshin area and was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
The child, identified as Om Harish Wange (4), was playing outside his house with a spray bottle filled with paint. During the play, he accidentally sprayed colour on his grandmother, identified as Sindhu Thackeray.
Police said the woman was filling a bucket with water that had been heated on Holi wood. Angered by the incident, she allegedly poured the boiling water on the child.
The boy sustained severe burn injuries below the waist and was rushed to a private hospital in Nagpur for treatment. Doctors examining the child stated that he has suffered nearly 45 per cent burn injuries.
CCTV footage of the incident reportedly shows the child screaming in pain after the hot water was poured on him.
Police officials said that a case is being registered against the accused woman and further investigation into the matter is underway.
