Mother forces daughter to carry brick filled bag, assaults her in public

Muzaffarpur, Bihar, INDIA: A disturbing video showing a woman allegedly assaulting her young daughter in public has triggered widespread outrage on social media. The incident is said to have taken place in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar.

In the viral footage, the woman is seen repeatedly slapping and kicking the child on a road while bystanders record the incident. In what appeared to be an act of punishment, she allegedly stuffed bricks into the girl’s school bag and forced her to carry it. The child can be heard crying and screaming as the woman continued to scold and hit her.

Eyewitnesses at the scene attempted to intervene. Some tried to remove the heavy bag and shield the child from further assault. However, the woman reportedly prevented them from doing so and challenged them to “call whoever you want.”

“112 mein phone kijiye (Please call 112),” a man is heard saying in the video, urging others to contact the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS). Another person is heard telling the woman, “Aise nahi kiya jaata hai (You shouldn’t behave like this),” while someone else says, “Bachche ko zabardasti torture kar rahi hai (She is torturing the child).” Despite repeated objections, the woman allegedly refused to stop and eventually left the spot with the child.

The video was shared on X by journalist Piyush Rai, who questioned the woman’s actions and sought accountability. Reacting to the post, Bihar Police tagged Muzaffarpur Police, prompting swift administrative attention.

Taking serious note of the viral footage, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra ordered a detailed inquiry into the matter.

“We have received information about a viral video on social media. The matter has been taken seriously. The video is being investigated. A child welfare officer will also be sent to investigate. If any type of child abuse is confirmed, legal action will be taken,” Mishra said.

Police officials stated that efforts are underway to verify the authenticity of the video and to identify the woman and the child. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken if allegations of child abuse are substantiated.

The exact location of the incident and the identities of those involved have not yet been officially confirmed. The investigation is ongoing.
