Family dispute turns fatal, 62-year-old man killed

Mauganj, Madhya Pradesh, INDIA: A shocking incident of intra-family violence left a 62-year-old man dead in Mauganj district, Madhya Pradesh, after he was allegedly attacked by his own family members.


According to police reports, the tragedy unfolded when the elderly man expressed his objection to his daughter-in-law’s decision to perform a dance at a local Durga Puja pandal. The disagreement escalated into a heated argument at the family home.


During the altercation, the man’s grandson reportedly struck him with a shovel. His son and wife later joined in, assaulting him further with wooden sticks. The violent attack left the man fatally injured, and he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.


Mauganj police confirmed that all three accused—his grandson, son, and wife—were arrested within 24 hours of the incident. 


A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the BNS, and the accused have been presented before the court.


Authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the matter to determine the circumstances leading to the brutal assault. Police officials have urged the public to maintain family harmony and report any potential domestic disputes before they escalate.
