New Delhi, INDIA: In a shocking incident in West Delhi, two close friends died after stabbing each other during a violent altercation inside a local park late Sunday night. The deceased have been identified as Sandeep and Arif, both residents of Khyala’s B Block area.
According to police, the two men—friends for years—were sitting in the park, located under the Tilak Nagar police station's jurisdiction, when a petty argument escalated into a fatal knife fight. Both sustained multiple stab injuries and were rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital by local residents who found them lying wounded. They succumbed to their injuries in the early hours of Monday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said, “Initial information suggests that a verbal dispute between the two turned into a physical scuffle. Both men attacked each other with sharp-edged weapons.”
Sandeep, who previously worked as a gym trainer, was currently employed as a property dealer. Both men were married, had children, and lived with their families in the same lane of Khyala.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem at DDU Hospital. Police teams from both Khayala and Tilak Nagar stations are investigating the incident. Officers are questioning family members and neighbours to ascertain the exact cause of the conflict and whether any third party was involved. CCTV footage from the area is also being reviewed.
Police said further updates would be provided after the post-mortem and forensic reports are received.
