Mumbai, Maharashtra, INDIA:  A 14-year-old girl from Mulund has alleged that she was repeatedly raped by her father, two teenage brothers, and a 50-year-old neighbour over a period of several months in 2024.

The Mumbai Police have arrested two of the four accused in the case.

According to police officials, the girl reported fresh details of the sexual assaults to her caretaker earlier this month. She claimed the abuse took place at her home between January and November 2024. The neighbour allegedly assaulted her in an isolated area outside the house.

The survivor had initially filed a complaint in November 2024, following which a case was registered against four other individuals. She was subsequently sent to a children's home under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). The newly revealed allegations came to light during a recent interaction with her caretaker.

"The CWC verified her statement and informed us," said an officer from Mulund Police Station. "As the previous charge-sheet had already been filed in the older case, we approached the POCSO court, which directed us to register a new offence based on the fresh complaint."

Police arrested the girl’s 42-year-old father and her eldest brother on July 21. Her 16-year-old brother and the 50-year-old neighbour are currently absconding.

All four accused have been booked under Sections 63 and 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

The search for the remaining accused is on-going
