Bengaluru, Karnataka, INDIA: A man recently released from prison after serving a sentence for murder has been arrested again for allegedly attacking a police officer who tried to intervene in a domestic dispute in the city’s Chamarajpet area on Saturday July 26 night.
The accused, identified as Tabrez Pasha alias Chor Tabrez, reportedly confronted his ex-wife Muskan—who has since remarried—at her mother’s residence in Valmiki Nagar. The confrontation escalated into a violent altercation involving Muskan’s current husband and other members of her family.
According to police officials, Muskan’s maternal uncle, Mohammed Shafiullah, sustained injuries while trying to break up the fight. Around 9:30 pm, Head Constable Santhosh from Chamarajpet police station, who was dining at a nearby restaurant, was alerted to the disturbance and rushed to the spot to intervene.
As Santhosh attempted to stop the brawl, Tabrez allegedly attacked him and slit his wrist before fleeing the scene along with three others, including a minor.
A Hoysala patrol team quickly responded, arranged for an ambulance, and rushed both Santhosh and Shafiullah to the hospital. Officials confirmed that both victims are out of danger and recovering under medical care.
Following the attack, Bengaluru West Division police launched a manhunt and arrested Tabrez along with three accomplices—identified as Abrej, Salman Pasha, and a minor. All except the minor have been taken into custody.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) confirmed the arrests and said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Further investigation is underway.
