Bengaluru, Karnataka, INDIA: A 33-year-old woman was brutally murdered in a hotel room in South Bengaluru on the night of June 6, in what police describe as a premeditated act of violence stemming from a failed extramarital relationship.

The victim, identified as Harini R, a mother of two and a resident of Hemmigepura in Banashankari 6th Stage, was found with 13 stab wounds in a hotel located in Poornapragna Housing Society Layout. Authorities believe the murder was committed by Yashas, 25, a BCA graduate employed at a private firm, who was in a relationship with the victim.

According to investigators, Harini had been married since 2012 to Dasegowda H P, a 41-year-old farmer. The couple have two daughters, aged 13 and 10. Three years ago, she reportedly met Yashas at a village fair, and the two began a romantic relationship that eventually developed into an extramarital affair.

Family members of both individuals had recently become aware of the affair and had urged Harini to end the relationship. Under familial pressure, she ceased communication with Yashas, giving her family the impression that the relationship had ended for good.

However, police say that the pair reconnected in early June and agreed to meet one final time. On the evening of Friday, June 6, at approximately 5 pm, Yashas picked Harini up in his car and took her to a hotel he had booked in advance.

Inside the room, the two are believed to have spent time together before Harini expressed her decision to permanently end the relationship, citing pressure from her husband and family. Police say this confrontation triggered a violent reaction from Yashas, who had allegedly brought a knife with him in anticipation of her rejection.

He reportedly stabbed Harini 13 times before fleeing the scene and returning home. Hours later, in the early morning of Saturday, June 7, he contacted a police constable attached to the Kengeri Police Station, confessing to the crime and admitting to self-inflicting a stab wound.

Police officers reached the hotel around 3:30 am, where they discovered Harini’s body. Yashas was taken to a nearby hospital and later shifted to KIMS Hospital for further treatment. He was discharged on the evening of Sunday, June 8, and taken into custody by the Subramanyapura Police.

Authorities have confirmed that Yashas has been arrested on murder charges and remains in police custody as the investigation continues. 0
