Police solve blind murder case, arrest two

Ludhiana police (in the state of Punjab in India) have successfully solved a blind murder case following the discovery of a bludgeoned body in Transport Nagar on March 10. The police have arrested two individuals, who were identified as associates of the victim. The motive behind the crime was reportedly suspicion that the victim had provided information to the police, leading to the arrest of one of the suspects.

 

Investigation and Arrests

The deceased, identified as Surinderpal Singh, also known as Sajan, was found in Transport Nagar. Police apprehended Sanjay Kumar, alias Bunty, from Deep Nagar near Dhuri Lines, and Rajwinder Singh, alias Raja, from Manjit Nagar. Authorities revealed that both the suspects, as well as the victim, had a history of criminal activities and were out on bail at the time of the incident. Rajwinder Singh is already facing a murder charge, while Sanjay Kumar has multiple criminal cases against him, including trespassing, drug peddling, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

 

Crime Details

According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) City 4, Prabhjot Singh Virk, the incident took place on March 9. The accused allegedly attacked Surinderpal Singh with bricks, fatally injuring him. After committing the crime, they transported his body on his own motorcycle and abandoned it in the slums of Transport Nagar before fleeing the scene.

 

Police Investigation

The Moti Nagar Police initially registered a murder case against unidentified persons. As the investigation progressed, two dedicated teams were formed to track down the perpetrators. Surveillance footage and witness statements revealed that the victim was last seen with Sanjay Kumar and Rajwinder Singh.

 

Authorities detained the suspects from Ghoda Colony and recovered the victim’s motorcycle along with two mobile phones in their possession. During interrogation, both suspects confessed to the crime, confirming their involvement.

 

Legal Proceedings

With the case now solved, the police are preparing to present the accused in court. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover any additional links to the crime. The authorities continue to emphasize their commitment to tackling criminal networks in the city.
