13-year-old boy raped and killed; One arrested, manhunt for second accused

Kanpur, India – A shocking case has surfaced from Kanpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, where a 13-year-old boy was brutally raped and murdered by two men after their partners allegedly refused to have sexual relations with them during Ramadan. One of the accused has been arrested, while a search operation is ongoing for the second suspect.

Crime Details

The horrendous incident occurred on March 5, when the minor was on his way to the gym. The accused, identified by the police as Azhar and Hussaini, kidnapped him, took him to a secluded forest area, and tied him up, according to DCP Brajendra Dwivedi. The two then sexually assaulted the boy, strangled him using a rope, and dumped his body in a well.

 Following his arrest, Hussaini reportedly confessed to the crime, revealing that he and Azhar were sexually frustrated after being denied intimacy by their partners during Ramadan.

 

Disturbing Confession

During police interrogation, allegedly Hussaini admitted that he and Azhar planned the assault after feeling frustrated over their partners' refusal to engage in sexual activity during the Islamic holy month.

"My girlfriend and Ajju’s (Azhar’s) wife refused to have sex with us during Ramadan. We were desperate and wondered how we would manage for a whole month. That’s when we noticed the 13-year-old boy. He was good-looking," Hussaini allegedly told police officials.

 

Deception and Ransom Demand

After the boy went missing, his family launched a search. The next morning, Hussaini, who lived in the same locality, approached them and suggested checking their phones for any ransom messages. Soon after, a message demanding ₹10 lakh ($12,000 USD) was found on the victim’s uncle’s phone.

The family became suspicious when they realized that Hussaini had disappeared during the night of the crime but was present the next morning. Upon police questioning, inconsistencies in his statements led to his confession.

 

Investigation and Search for Azhar

Authorities recovered the victim’s body and sent it for post-mortem examination. A manhunt has been launched to locate and arrest Azhar. Police officials have assured the public of swift legal action against both accused.

This horrendous crime has sparked outrage across the region, with demands for stringent punishment against the perpetrators.
