Man
saves infant swept off in flash flood
Heavy rains cause flash floods in Mumbai in which a child is swept away and saved by a man.
Heavy
rains have been lashing Mumbai the commercial capital of India since August 4,
2020, and a red alert had been sounded for the same.
The
city received over 150 millimetres of rainfall in 24 hours following which low-lying
areas got flooded and drains were overflowing.
A video
that has gone viral in the social media, shows a child being swept away along
with flotsams in one such flash flood in a drain along hutments at Santacruz, a
suburb of Mumbai.
Residents
are aghast at the sight and shout for help.
A
young man jumps into the gushing flood water and quickly picks by the child,
rescuing him from sure death. He then hands over the traumatised child to the
residents.
