Bengaluru, Karnataka, INDIA: A 22-year-old law student has died after being allegedly stabbed near her home in Bengaluru's Kodihalli locality. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Jeevan Bheemanagar Police Station. Authorities have arrested two brothers in connection with the case.

The victim, identified as Amrutha, was attacked on the evening of July 13 and suffered multiple stab wounds to her chest and back. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she remained under treatment before succumbing to her injuries on July 15, police said.

According to investigators, Amrutha had earlier been in a relationship with one of the accused, Dhanush. Police allege that the relationship ended after she discovered he had previously been married and had a child, information that had allegedly been concealed from her.

The investigation further suggests that Surya, Dhanush's brother, confronted Amrutha regarding her decision to end the relationship. During the confrontation, he allegedly attacked her with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Local residents alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and ensured the injured student was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.

Based on the preliminary investigation, Jeevan Bheemanagar police arrested both Surya, who is alleged to have carried out the stabbing, and Dhanush. A criminal case has been registered, and Amrutha's body has been sent to CV Raman Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police said further investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events, the role of each accused, and the motive behind the alleged crime.
