Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, INDIA: A late-night drinking session turned fatal in Greater Noida after a South Korean national was allegedly stabbed to death by his live-in partner from Manipur. The accused woman has been arrested, and police are investigating the circumstances and motive behind the killing.
The incident came to light in the early hours of Sunday January 4 when GIMS Hospital informed the police that a foreign national had been brought in with fatal stab injuries. Doctors declared him dead on arrival, following which police rushed to the hospital and began an investigation.
The deceased was identified as Duck Hee Yuh, a South Korean citizen who worked as a branch manager with a reputed mobile phone company. The woman who brought him to the hospital was identified as Lunjeana Pamai, a resident of Manipur. During questioning, Pamai allegedly confessed to stabbing Yuh with a knife.
Police said the couple had been living together in a live-in relationship for the past two years at ATS Pious Hideways Society in Greater Noida. According to investigators, the two were consuming alcohol late into the night when an argument broke out after Pamai allegedly tried to stop Yuh from drinking further. The verbal altercation soon escalated into a physical scuffle.
“In a fit of rage during the scuffle, the woman allegedly stabbed the man in the chest. The injury was deep and caused heavy bleeding,” a senior police officer said.
Realising the seriousness of his condition, Pamai rushed Yuh to GIMS Hospital, where he was declared dead. The hospital subsequently informed the police, leading to the reconstruction of events.
In an official statement, the police said, “A South Korean national, Duck Hee Yuh, was brought dead to GIMS Hospital on January 4, 2026. Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was admitted by Lunjeana Pamai, a resident of Manipur. During the investigation, it was found that the accused woman allegedly stabbed him with a knife. The two were in a live-in relationship for a considerable period. A case has been registered at Knowledge Park Police Station, and the accused has been arrested.”
Investigators said the relationship was strained, with frequent arguments. Police are also probing claims that the deceased allegedly consumed alcohol excessively and often assaulted the woman. The accused has told police that she did not intend to kill her partner and that the stabbing occurred during the altercation. Her claims are being verified.
The incident was initially reported to the police by the victim’s driver, who was informed by Pamai about what had happened. Based on the driver’s complaint, a case of murder has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Knowledge Park Police Station.
The accused remains in police custody, and further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
