Hyderabad, Telangana, INDIA: Hyderabad was shaken by a gruesome case of domestic violence after a man allegedly murdered his sleeping wife and openly confessed to the crime on social media in the Borabanda area.

The incident occurred late Monday January 19 night at the couple’s residence in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Borabanda. The victim, 34-year-old Saraswati, was reportedly asleep when her husband, Rodde Anjaneyulu, attacked her with a heavy stone, striking her on the head and killing her on the spot.

According to police, the couple had a heated argument earlier in the night. While their two children were asleep in the adjoining room, the dispute allegedly escalated, leading to the fatal assault. After the attack, Anjaneyulu shockingly posted a WhatsApp status stating, “I killed my partner with my own hands,” alerting relatives, neighbours, and eventually the police.

The horrifying scene came to light when the children woke up and found their mother lying in a pool of blood. Locals immediately informed the Borabanda police, who rushed to the spot and took the body into custody for post-mortem examination.

Police sources said the couple hailed from Wanaparthy district and had been married for nearly 14 years. They had moved to Hyderabad in search of better employment opportunities. Saraswati worked as a housekeeper, while Anjaneyulu was involved in the car business. Neighbours and relatives revealed that the couple had been facing frequent marital disputes in recent months, allegedly fuelled by the husband’s growing suspicion towards his wife.

The accused was arrested soon after the incident and has been taken into police custody for questioning. A murder case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact motive behind the crime.
