Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, INDIA: The son of a notorious Indian serial killer has been arrested for the murder of a colleague following a violent altercation in Madhya Pradesh’s capital.
Shubham Kamra was taken into custody on Sunday June 1 night along with four other suspects after allegedly beating co-worker Kriparam Rajput to death near a bridge close to Mandideep, on the outskirts of Bhopal. The men, all employees of a local liquor company, reportedly attacked Rajput with sticks and iron rods after a dispute escalated.
According to police, the conflict began with a verbal argument between Kamra and Rajput, during which Rajput allegedly slapped Kamra. In retaliation, Kamra is said to have summoned his associates and launched a brutal assault that proved fatal.
Authorities have charged the suspects under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws.
In a striking development during the investigation, police confirmed that Shubham Kamra is the son of Aadesh Kamra — one of India’s most infamous serial killers, currently serving a life sentence in Bhopal jail. Aadesh Kamra, once a tailor by profession, admitted to murdering over 30 truck drivers and cleaners across several Indian states over an eight-year span. He targeted drivers on highways, drugging and killing them before stealing their vehicles.
Investigators are now probing Shubham Kamra’s background for any prior criminal involvement. Interrogations of all five suspects are ongoing.
