NEW DELHI
– The Delhi Police on April 20 announced a breakthrough in the gruesome killing of a 17-year-old boy in Seelampur, claiming the case has been solved with the arrest of the prime accused and several others.

The teenager, identified as Kunal, was fatally stabbed on April 17 in what investigators believe was a pre-planned attack rooted in personal rivalry. A total of nine individuals have been taken into custody, including two women and two juveniles, officials confirmed.

During the investigation, police uncovered substantial evidence that allegedly linked the accused to the crime. According to police sources, the attackers—named as Sahil, Zikra, and two minors—had a longstanding feud with the victim. On the day of the murder, the group is said to have cornered Kunal and stabbed him multiple times in a targeted assault.

Authorities believe the act was a result of criminal conspiracy, and say that those involved coordinated the attack in advance. The brutality of the murder sparked public outrage and protests across Seelampur, prompting police to intensify security in the area.

Given the high-profile nature of the case, the Operations Wing of the North East District, along with officers from the local police station, was brought in to lead the investigation. Multiple teams were deployed to track the suspects using a combination of technical surveillance, human intelligence, and digital forensics.

Zikra, a key suspect who had reportedly boasted about gangster affiliations on social media, was apprehended on April 18 evening during coordinated raids across Delhi NCR and parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Ghaziabad, Meerut, Moradabad, and Amroha.

Further operations led to the arrest of eight additional suspects on April 20. Investigators also discovered that some of the accused played a supporting role in helping the primary perpetrators evade law enforcement.

Police said the investigation remains on-going, with further arrests and revelations possible as they probe deeper into the network behind the crime.
